9101 NW 2nd St, Plantation, FL, 33324

The center is one of the largest public tennis facilities in South Florida, featuring 26 lighted clay courts and 2 hard courts.

Stay Close to the Tournaments

The 2017 US Open may be over, but for South Florida fans, the USTA tennis tournament season is in full swing.

The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation Hotel is conveniently located only 2 miles from the upcoming Plantation tennis tournaments at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center.

8 Tips for Attending a Plantation Tennis Tournament

  1. Wear Sunscreen! Apply sunscreen before you arrive and bring a small bottle with you in case you need more later.
  2. Bring a cushion pad to sit on. Metal bleachers at community courts are hard and can feel quite uncomfortable after a while.
  3. Bleachers at this location are on the end courts. There are also plenty of tables and chairs, but this is not the best area for watching a match.
  4. Rest Rooms are in the pro shop.
  5. The tennis courts are in the Plantation Central Park Complex, and plenty of parking is available nearby.
  6. Typically, the schedule of play is released the day prior. If possible, review the order of play before getting to the grounds. This way, you’ll have an idea of where you should sit.
  7. Wear breathable, light-colored clothing (and a hat and sunglasses).
  8. Check the weather the day before and bring a small umbrella in case of rain.
